Tarn Hows near Hawkshead

Tarn Hows is made up of three tarns which joined together in the 19th Century. Partly artificial, this popular beauty spot offers plenty of walking trails for all ages and abilities. The path around the tarn is quite flat, and is 1.5 miles long in distance, and suitable for wheelchairs. Owned by the National Trust, a car park is situated nearby which makes the area easily accessible. This is one of the most picturesque spots in the region, and is worth a visit at any time of the year.
